Maths for TAs

Focus: Curriculum
For: Teaching assistants

Description:

The support of Teaching Assistants in developing pupil’s mathematical experiences is invaluable.

During this session we will explore:

  • strategies to enhance the teaching and learning of maths
  • latest developments in maths education and the role that TAs play
  • the use of manipulatives to aid pupils understanding of key concepts
  • the use of maths language and stem sentences and how TAs can model these to support the pupils use and understanding.

Director’s Note:

TAs told us they want support with doing the very best in Maths; here it is. Perhaps book extra places and have all TAs and the Maths leader attend together in one room?
