Writing the School Development Plan
Focus: Leadership and Management
For: Headteachers, heads of school, senior leaders
Description:
This full day session is aimed at Executive Head Teachers, Head Teachers, Heads of School, Principals and Senior Leaders who are responsible for school improvement. It will provide practical advice and support around how to easily write your School Development Plan using the principles set out in the EEF Implementation guidance.
The morning session will guide you through how to plan for one key area of improvement, while in the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to ‘have a go’ by yourself, or alongside your SLT. You will leave with a well-structured improvement plan, which identifies clear next steps and criteria for success.
NB This is a direct follow on from the half-day session How to easily identify your school development priorities and plan for improvement. If you have not attended this session, a recording can be sent to you in advance of the full-day session. It is recommended that more than one leader from each school attends the session, where possible, to get the most out of it. In addition, there will be a pre-session task to complete, which will be sent over a few weeks prior to the session.
Director’s Note:
You deserve a summer holiday and your team deserve a well-planned SDP presented to them before you break up, or at the very least on the first day back. Save your Summer hols- you and your deputy attend today and get that SDP written.
